What a great weekend we had! Evan had three parties--yes, three! We had a small party at our house on Friday (his birthday) with just the three of us, where he got to experience eating his first birthday cake! He was a little unsure of what to do at first and wanted to just eat the frosting with a spoon, but Adam helped him a little and showed him how to really dig into it, and they had so much fun! 
On Saturday we had a party with Grandma and Poppa and the whole family, and what a night it was! It started out pretty smooth. We ate dinner and opened gifts. As theevening went on, however, Evan got a bit overwhelmed (not to mention tired). When it was time for cake, to say he didn't like his bib and hat would be an understatement! He must have cried for 10 mintues!But, once he calmed down, he really really enjoyed digging into his cake with his fork!
Then on Sunday he had his THIRD party at Granny and Grandaddy's house! The whole family was there, and Evan was in a much better mood this time! We ate dinner and played for a little while, then we had cake and opened presents. By that time, he was an expert at both! He dug right into the cute cake, and did a great at pulling the paper off of his presents!
What a fun time! He is so blessed to have so much family close by, and we are so thankful everyone was willing to let us come over and party! Here is a montage of all the rest of the cute pics from his parties!
